Shangri La Shenzhen

Recently I enjoyed a set of buffet lunch in this hotel. Unlike those other restaurants in Shenzhen, the dining place was so quiet as there were few customers even in lunch time, and you can spend the afternoon enjoying amazing cuisines from various countries. Talking about dishes, just leave your luggages behind and grab all the crabs and oysters you see. I must say, they're the spirit of all, in my opinion.

I stay here regularly due to nearby work commitments. The hotel has a number of friendly and competent staff - particularly at the front desk. The property is well located for subway access (Huaxin, Exit C). Sadly, out of the scores of hotels we stay at in China - including in some 'sensitive' cities - this hotel feels like a police station at times. All hotels in China are required to photograph guests, but manage to do it discreetly. For many months now, despite numerous complaints from myself and others, this hotel has five very large monitors on the reception desk promoting the local police services. Clearly, this is completely unnecessary if the aim is simply to take a guest's photo. Meanwhile, the security desk in the evenings is also more overt than any of the other hotels we stay at. In short, rather than having a welcoming check-in experience befitting a purportedly international standard hotel, the experience instead is an unwelcome and inappropriate reminder of China's solid credentials as a police state.

Hello I was in Shenzhen on Wednesday, October 25, I paid $343.33 dollars and at the end of my departure I paid everything again. I talked to the manager and he told me he was going to give me my money back, he even gave me a cancellation. It's been 1 month and I haven't received 1 cent. They charged me 2 times. I need to know when I get my money back. I can't wait any longer, I'm very upset.
