Shepherd s Run

Amazing amazing stay at Shepherd's Run this past weekend! My husband and I just did a quick one-nighter for our first wedding anniversary and it was the perfect RI staycation. Incredibly easy self check-in and check-out. The staff and service at the wine bar was incredible. We went and got dinner and drinks around town that evening and then treated ourselves to an amazing complimentary heated yoga flow with their in-house yoga instructor, Kendall. Everything felt incredibly curated and clean and luxe. The rooms were beautiful and modern. My only complaint - and almost gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of it - was that the rooms are not sound proof. We had a joining door to the room next door and we could hear everything from the TV to their chatting. We had to put music on to go to sleep that night - which was fine! - but just something to be aware of. Not a huge deal and an amazing experience and stay otherwise! Highly recommend!!

My husband and I first visited the Shepherds Run late October of 2023. We spent the day at the winery and enjoyed the ambiance very much. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating, they truly stood out from any other winery we’ve attended. We knew we needed to come back! It was the perfect stop before heading 30 minutes into Newport. This time, fast forward a year and a half later, we decided to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. In addition to the winery, we stayed at the inn, which far exceeded our expectations. The room was super cozy, to say the least it was very hard to leave. We started the morning with a delicious breakfast and made our way to the Petite Retreat spa to enjoy some R&R. I have so much more to say, but I want to leave you with some room for wonder. The Shepherds Run deserves more than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Shepherds Run! It’s a very unique destination resort and the experience with touchless check in and check out was very convenient. Breakfast was included each morning which was fresh, varied and delightful! Evening complimentary wine was also delicious with a good selection. The grounds are gorgeous, nicely equipped workout room, and awesome yoga classes complimentary for guests. The pool and hot tub looked great although we didn’t use them - the hours however are very limited and it would be nice to have access to the hot tub at least into the evening (past 5pm). Rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable although the walls are very thin and you can hear people coming and going at all hours. The primary drawback for us was the weddings they hosted Friday and Saturday nights which were loud until 10:30pm and prevented guest access through the property without going outside and all the way around to find unlocked door access. NOT good in the rain and cold we experienced. They really need to consider the paying guests’ convenience in addition to that of the wedding party when booking.
