Chongqing rises like a futuristic dream from the mist of the Yangtze, a city of neon reflections and perpetual movement. At the Sheraton Chongqing Hotel, the river is more than a backdrop—it’s a constant presence, flowing past the glass towers and casting shimmering patterns onto the skyline. Positioned in the Nan’an commercial district, this high-rise retreat offers more than luxury; it’s a gateway to the city’s restless energy. Step out and you’re moments from the glowing chaos of Jiefangbei or the quiet rhythms of Yan Yu Park’s illuminated fountains. Inside, the experience shifts—panoramic city views, the cool embrace of an infinity-style indoor pool, and late-night conversations over dim sum at the hotel’s upscale eateries. In a city that reinvents itself daily, the Sheraton is both a moment of stillness and a front-row seat to the spectacle of modern Chongqing.
Nice location, the room was good, the bed and pillow were comfy. But i was so dissapointed with the shower room. After each shower, the water was accumulated in the corner, not fully flown to drainage, and not long after would smell so so bad. The house keeping and her supervisor was aware of this problem, they told me to let them take care of the water accumulated after shower, but would it be so uncomfortable after evening or late night shower when you want to relax on the bed, while the housekeeping doing that job? I think a five star hotel should not give its customer room like this if the supervisor already know this issue. The should fix it before letting customer stay.
Sheraton Chongqing is a pretty old hotel comparing to many newly built five-star hotels. The interior is kind of worn-out, however, the location is very prime in the historic district with many traditional houses and apartments around it. It is only 5mins away from a major subway station. So if you want to see the locals and Chongqing traditions, this is a good pick. If you want to enjoy the amenities and river scenes, there are many more options! I was offered a suite with complementary upgrade. The lounge staffs were very friendly and offered me daily greetings, weather reminder and tips about the attractions during my five days of stay! They were very lovely! Cheers!
