I stayed four nights in this hotel, and they upgraded my room to a creek view suite. The hotel has many nice restaurants; my favorite is Japanese. The swimming pool is not very large but nice. Breakfast was good, full of many options. I love this part of Dubai. It's close to the old market.
Just got back from a stay at the Sheraton Dubai Creek and thought I’d share a quick recap. The hotel itself has some age, and the room décor reflects that slightly dated vibe—but they’re immaculately clean and really well cared for, which counts most. I lucked out with an upgrade to a Junior Suite boasting a gorgeous Creek view. Now, if you’re an elite member, the lounge access is the standout perk. Happy hour runs from 5 to 8 PM with generous pours flowing freely and food is served. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a day exploring the city. Breakfast is ok, nothing spectacular. It gets busy though, so be wary if you are coming in around 9:30am. All in all, the Sheraton Dubai Creek delivers great value, especially when stacked against other, pricier Marriott options in town. The pool and gym are modest, so don’t expect anything flashy there. But for a comfortable, well-serviced stay with fantastic lounge benefits, this one’s a solid pick.
I rarely ever write reviews this negative, but sometimes an experience is bad enough that it needs to be shared. I arrived at the hotel around 1 p.m. with a friend. We had booked two rooms but forgot to mention that we wanted them to be near each other. The manager handling our check-in (I believe her name was Jenna or Jana) told us the rooms were still being cleaned and asked us to wait. That was understandable, and I expected a short wait—maybe an hour at most. However, after an hour and a half, I approached the reception to ask for an update. I was told we’d have to wait even longer because the rooms were still being cleaned. Now, I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world, and this is the first time I’ve seen a cleaning process take more than two hours and twenty minutes. But let me be clear—that’s not even my main issue. The real problem was the attitude of the staff—three separate people, to be specific. Before coming, I glanced at some reviews, and one recurring complaint was the unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. I chose to keep an open mind despite those warnings. Unfortunately, those reviews were spot on. The staff repeatedly dismissed us, ignored our concerns, and acted with a tone that was passive-aggressive and completely uncooperative. At one point, I was speaking with a front desk employee who literally walked away mid-conversation to talk to someone else. When I expressed that I felt disrespected, the manager stepped in—not to apologize, but to defend the employee and claim she had told me to wait (she hadn’t—I have functioning ears). What I experienced was not just poor service—it was consistent hostility, passive-aggressive responses, and outright disrespect. This happened on multiple occasions during just one check-in process. To sum it up: believe the reviews. If you value basic courtesy and professionalism, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
