We recently stayed here and found it to be a mixed experience. On the plus side, the room was very clean and the housekeeping staff clearly does a great job. Linens were fresh, the bathroom was spotless, and everything felt well-maintained from a cleanliness standpoint. That said, the overall vibe of the hotel felt a bit dated and empty. The decor and furnishings could use an update, and the common areas—though tidy—felt a little deserted and lacking in energy. It almost felt like the place used to be lively but has quieted down over the years.
Huge volleyball tournament this weekend amongst others staying here this weekend. There were probably over 50+ people in line waiting to be checked in for 4 hours on Thursday evening with 2 people working. The online check in didn’t work for anyone. We had a block for 12 rooms but everyone was dispersed among the 35 or so floors they have. In order to get to other people’s floors, you’d have to ride the elevator down then take a different elevator back up. This place is not set up for a traffic flow like this. On the flip side, the employees were incredibly nice but I believe management should have been better prepared for check in day and had room blocks staying together. The hotel doors all slammed shut, making it hard for anyone that had to be up early in the morning to get a decent nights sleep. Beds are comfortable though and the link to the crown plaza was nice.
Wow, I have never received such awful and rude customer service in my life. After prepaying fully through Expedia they maxed out my credit card by charging my card 4 separate transactions that totaled over 1000$ for one night (that I prepaid for) had to call multiple times to get anywhere and the front desk staff was rude and lied to me over the phone. After finally back and forth with them and Expedia they admitted THEIR mistake to Expedia with no apology or anything to me. Finally refunded my card (which was the minimum since they essentially stole from me). This is really weird behavior from a hotel claiming to offer excellent customer service.
