This is a really nice hotel in the Boavista area of time. The metro is a 10 minute walk away, but taxis and buses run nearby. The executive lounge was really nice and the staff always took care of us. They always remembered our drinks and always brought drinks if we needed them. The room was excellent with ocean views and a great balcony to the Stadium across from the hotel. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional, but the staff were great. The bar was also included in the lounge, so I ate food and had beers there too. The lift was made of glass, and is really speedy. Nice place to stay and a lot cheaper than the Lisbon one.
In the last years this hotel is staying behind when compared with other 5-star hotels. The lobby is very austere and does not have an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. Lack of power outlets in the room. Some maintenance issues. The staff continues to be very friendly and helpful.
A Comfortable Stay, but Hospitality Needs Improvement The Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa is a well-maintained, clean, and comfortable property in a quiet location. The facilities are excellent, offering a relaxing atmosphere. However, the experience at the reception desk left much to be desired. As a Marriott Gold member, my expectations may be high, but my concerns apply to any guest staying at your hotel. During check-in, I expected a warm welcome and a proper explanation of the hotel’s facilities, rather than a rushed process. At check-out (7:30 AM), there were no morning greetings, no inquiry about my stay, and no simple hospitality gestures like expressing a desire to welcome me back. These basic courtesies make a difference in guest experience. Additionally, when I pointed out that my coffee cup had been improperly cleaned, the reception staff merely acknowledged it without an apology—something that should have been handled more professionally. On a positive note, I truly appreciated the thoughtful birthday cake and champagne—thank you for that! The concierge team was exceptional, always helpful and smiling, setting a great example of true hospitality. Final note: While the hotel itself is excellent, the reception team could benefit from better training in hospitality. Addressing these small but essential details would elevate the guest experience and align service standards with the quality of the property.
