Wonderful hotel with great staff! The hotel is just 1.5 years old and rooms are in very good shape, nice, spacious and very clean. The location is OK in the middle of nowhere, 10 minutes from the highway and 1.5 hours from Shanghai. It's 20km to the wetland park and 20 minutes walking distance to the Yangtse river. The whole area is flat and great for long walks. The hotel also rents bicycles but hourly rates of 100RMB are rather high. We've been there during a long weekend with public holiday, and the waiters already warned us: usually they only have 30 guests but during this time they were fully booked with more than 500! Nonetheless the food was good and service was fast. Also the large swimming pool was completely empty between 11 and 3pm. The best about the hotel are the people working there! We felt very welcome, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and most even spoke really good English. Especially Tony and Jeff from the main restaurant were great! We had the feeling that the whole staff is really working together as a team and enjoy their jobs. Exceptional and definitely the best service we ever had in China. Overall highly recommended, for the location in the middle of nature, for the hotel amenities and especially for the wonderful service.
Very nice hotel building and spacious rooms. Staff was friendly and upgraded our room to ground floor with garden. The gym is clean, but a little weak on the equipment side. The hotels tends to be overcrowded on weekends, and the staff doesn't seem able to manage it well then. Examples would be warm beer after hours or no room service available at certain times.
The area near the hotel is relatively deserted, with nothing there. There is a villa area opposite, but there should be no one living there. It feels like the vanity of real estate has created this place. We came on Saturday, and judging from the breakfast, there were quite a few people staying in the hotel, including many children. The children are quite happy that they can eat free ice cream here. In addition, it was spring when we came, the flowers were in bloom, and the scenery was still beautiful. I hope there will be better development here!
