Very nice sea view. Comfy room and good service. We'll located going either south or north

My review: as a context- this is a good business hotel. I found the room clean but a bit dated and lacked some amenities - for example: no coffee maker or iron, tv remote had limited function (ie no cc). Bed is also very hard and takes getting used to. Prices were $100 CAD a night which is bit higher than average. It’s not located within walking distance to much (except a McD) - Unfortunately walking access seems very limited in this city in general. Room was generally quiet (I was on 11th floor) (Unable to say if you go in Carnaval time in April). Security is pretty good - need card to get on elevator. Regarding language, the front desk staff can usually speak English. Not hard to pick up some Portuguese. Service at resto and room service was very good. Restaurant was a bit more formal - not an informal place to hang and meet others - just have your meal and go (won’t meet anyone). Definitely tip the room/resto staff. Overall: not a bad place

I had an 11th floor room with views to the beach, which was amazing, however it was not well kept, as the shower faucet fell when I tried to open the water flow. Also in the shower enclosure was a razor blade that was probably left there by the previous guest, which I particularly found very disgusting. Regarding my check in, the young lady at the front desk lack the minimum of sympathy, besides seemingly to be lost. Upon my arrival I handed her my I.D. card and credit card for incidentals, and she promptly returned my credit card. After a while she handed me the credit card machine demanding a credit card for the incidentals in such a rude way. Checkout was like cumbersome, by the end the lady telling me that I was “free to go”, like I was leaving a jail or something. Overall it was a bad experience, actually the only bad experience I had in a Marriott property.
