The Hotel Event centre has a lovely feeling and Vibe ☺️. Not massively spacious but sizable enough for a considerable amount of people. The parking space also is as good as the hotel. It's also in a great location

### The Good The **location is excellent, directly on Sagamu Road**, offering convenient access, and there's **ample parking space** available. For art enthusiasts, the hotel boasts some **marvellous artworks** in its public spaces, including striking iron images of notable Nigerian figures like Wole Soyinka, Odumegwu Ojukwu, and Awolowo. ### Areas Needing Urgent Attention Unfortunately, the hotel falls short in several critical areas, particularly concerning cleanliness, room comfort, and overall value. * **Cleanliness & Maintenance:** The **reception area was notably unclean**, and the **main staircase was dirty with sand scattered around**. My room was **unimpressive and lacked the expected level of cleanliness**. Specific issues included a **leaking cistern**, a **broken bathroom door handle** that hadn't been replaced, and a general need for improvement in the shower and toilet areas. The linens, while present, were **not as white as expected**. * **Room Comfort & Amenities:** The **air conditioning struggled to get cold**, and its **vent was noticeably held in place by a piece of tissue paper**, which was unsightly and concerning. The AC also **triggered off every 10 minutes**, further impacting comfort. The rooms are **tiny**, and the TV is an **old 14-inch model**, which feels outdated. The overall colour scheme in the room felt odd, contributing to a sense of **poor value for money**. * **Noise Disturbance:** A major issue impacting rest was the **highly disturbing noise filtering from the relaxation area/open bar**. This loud disturbance continued almost non-stop, making a peaceful stay impossible. * **Accessibility:** The **lack of an elevator** creates a significant accessibility problem for guests with mobility needs, especially given the various floors. * **Service & Other Facilities:** The **receptionist could be more empathetic**. The **restaurant service was slow**, and its general **appearance needs a significant update**. The **internet was sluggish and slow**. ### Safety and Security Perceptions While there was a general sense of security, it didn't feel robust. Additionally, the presence and behavior of some individuals encountered in the corridors and public areas (where the artwork is displayed) unfortunately **created a perception of unsavoury activities**, suggesting the hotel might be used for temporary, illicit lodging. ### Conclusion If your primary purpose for staying at a hotel is rest and comfort, this might not be the ideal place. Despite its great location and interesting artwork, the pervasive issues with cleanliness, room maintenance, noise disturbance, and inadequate amenities significantly detract from the overall guest experience and fail to represent good value for money.
