Sherwood Hotel

My month stay at the Sherwood Hotel Resort has been great. I am a Canadian that has travelled to Ukraine for business. I selected to stay at Sherwood because I required a quiet and safe place to do my work. Sherwood has not only met but exceeded my expectations.

I visited the hotel for two nights as part of a group. I really liked the surrounding forest and the lake where I even swam. The room was above average at this price level and included air conditioning, which is not common in hotels at this price level in Ukraine. The room was clean and the towels were changed every day. The hot water test passed successfully and I always had hot water in the shower. The staff was kind, smiling and positive. The food was mostly delicious. What I didn't like was that the shower head holder was broken which made me hold it during the shower, but it wasn't critical. The furniture in the room was satisfactory, but the quality of the double bed mattress was low - a cheap and squeaky spring mattress. The hotel has 5 floors without an elevator! Not suitable for the disabled, those with small children with strollers and people who simply don't like to going up and down 4-5 floors. The hotel had several Wi-Fi networks but the coverage was problematic and uneven. There were places where the reception was good, but on my floor (4) the internet was slow and disconnected often. In a radius of 20-30 meters from the hotel it was possible to receive wi-fi, but not in a continuous and reasonable manner. The importance of the Internet increased in this case for the reason that I personally had no cellular network reception in the hotel and around what made me relied only on the wi-fi which, as mentioned, did not function optimally. One last thing, make sure you bring everything you need in advance! The nearest store is about 6 km away and if you don't buy cigarettes and alcohol or any other product in advance you will find that it is not possible to do it when you are in the hotel compaund. Dear hotel owners and managers, install an elevator as soon as possible, don't skimp on some quality routers and a fast internet connection, upgrade the mattresses to better quality in order to provide a better sleeping experience to your guests and open a small convenience store in your compound. Overall my experience was positive and I would consider coming back to stay again in the future.

We were visiting this place for the second time and had only stayed for the restaurant but not the hotel. The surrounding area is very nice, and relatively calm. The nature is great, however the calmness and the charm of this place is being disrupted by the electric leaf blowers. As another downside of this place their restaurant service was very poor. We were waiting for our grill dishes for 1 hour and 50 minutes, and the waitress was telling that she saw the chef putting our food on the plate. However she returned in 10 minutes with our bill instead of food. Guys, please teach your waitresses not to lie to the guest, but inform us correctly, even if the wait time is 2,5 hours. Also, I've heard at the counter other guests complaining they've waited for a bottled beer for 1+ hour. It's not even funny.
