Wonderful place and friendly staff. Could use some updating. Food was great, same or a little more then a regular down town restaurant. Drinks especially wine by the glass was a bit high. Breakfast at $30 was very steep but good. Beautiful beach and clear water
Had an amazing stay at Sherwood Inn! The staff were friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. Loved the beautiful surroundings and relaxing atmosphere. Balcony facing lake was the icing on the cake. The food was delicious, and the activities were plenty. Felt like a true getaway from the hustle of daily life. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful resort experience. Cheers!!
We had a 5 night stay booked for the end of May 2025 but I needed to cancel because my dog had suddenly started experiencing multiple fainting and incontinent episodes per day; we couldn’t in good conscience leave him with a sitter in this state, so we needed to cancel our highly anticipated trip that we’d been very excited for, in order to look after our dog and attend vet appointments. I called the Inn and explained our situation. They kept my $456 deposit and said I should consider myself lucky that they didn’t charge me the entire stay. The only option they offered me as an alternative was to keep the reservation and bring my dog (not a good idea since we’d be delaying his medical care and I assumed future guests wouldn’t appreciate the remnants of an incontinent dog). Keep in mind that this was in the off-season, and The Sherwood Inn chose to be this rigid and unwavering during a time when I could see by the availability on their website that the resort was virtually empty. I asked if they would be able to credit us $456 toward a future stay, even in the off-season. We could come, even in the fall, spend money on accommodations for multiple nights, as well as in their restaurant. We’d be paying them far in excess of the $456 credit, and they’d likely get a future customer for years to come. Instead, they decided to make a short-sighted business decision and lose a potentially loyal and lucrative customer. Luckily, we discovered Viamede Resort in the Kawarthas and vacationed there this summer. They’re nearly twice as expensive but their customer service is stellar and they value their guests. We already booked for next year and we look forward to being long time customers of theirs. Your loss, Sherwood.
