Shinola Hotel

So happy I found this hotel. Had reservations at David Whitney but they had changed their pet policy so at the last minute I had to find a new hotel and I'm so glad I did. Shinola did not disappoint. Great hotel for pets, clean, super friendly and conveniently located near lots of food and shopping. Quick walk to all the stadiums. I will definitely stay here again. Rooms are also bigger than David Whitney hotel. The only thing I will say I wish wasn't an issue is the outside noise can clearly be heard in the room making it a bit hard to fall asleep.

We recently held our wedding, reception, and farewell brunch at Shinola and had a wonderful experience. Ourselves and family and friends booked rooms for 1-2 nights and all were pleased with their accommodations. All staff were extremely welcoming and supportive during an event so special to us. We have zero complaints and would highly recommend Shinola for an event and/or stay.

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Detroit I don’t even know where to begin—this hotel is hands down one of the best hidden gems in downtown Detroit. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The management is fantastic, the service is top-notch, the food is absolutely outstanding, and the rooms are beautifully appointed with a touch of old-school elegance that’s hard to find these days. A special shoutout to Maxine, who truly made my stay unforgettable. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made all the difference. If you haven’t experienced this hotel yet, you’re seriously missing out. Highly recommend!
