We stayed for one night but it was a great experience staying in this hotel. The service is amazing! Despite we are foreigner and couldnt speak japnaese, One of the hotel staff called Maumana gave us explanation about the hotel . The location is secluded deep in the mountain. They had 5 different onsen inc 2 outdoor onsen. 2 onsen is very hot while the other 3 isn't that hot. The owner dont bother pick us from the terminal bus despite we are late and couldnt inform the hotel. (We call the hotel from the phonebooth next to terminal). On the departure day, he also offered to send us to the next hotel! The room is very clean and no mold. There is a heater in room. The pillow works well. They also provided us a pair of Yukata. The meal is well served. Portion is good, the quality is decent for our Asian tongue. They had a local sake which very good! Definitely will come back again!

Very friendly staff who try to accommodate non-Japanese speakers. Great onsen and great food for dinner and breakfast. Cute cats roam to hotel lobby.

You can enjoy three different hot springs, one of which is open for day trips. The facilities have been renovated and are well-maintained, and the food was so good I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it was almost too much for an old man like me. Above all, the hot springs were amazing. Each of the three hot springs had its own unique characteristics and was great, but my favorite was the Handan no Yu, which also has mixed bathing times. Also known as the Sumi-yu or Kuro-yu, it contains a lot of metasilicic acid and metaboric acid, which are skin-beautifying ingredients, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and smooth. 😊 It was a great inn. Meals at Gensenkan. Dinner was a healthy menu featuring local ingredients, such as grilled amago trout (?) and Nasu Sangen pork with lemon shabu-shabu. Breakfast was also healthy, with porridge made with drinkable hot spring water and soft-boiled eggs. It was delicious. *There are many reviews online confusing this facility with the reviews of the hotel located above, but please rest assured that there are no crocodiles here and the facility is not designed to allow crocodiles to roam freely.
