We truly enjoy all the facilities in the large hotel, especially the massage service near the spa - my wife’s neck ache is almost healed by the professional therapist. The room is spacious and clean, and the spa is very good. We also enjoyed the view of the city at the platform. In addition to many restaurants, they have bread store, Family mart, and a large shopping store near the spa for us to purchase local souvenirs. Many good stuff there. Speaking of the outstanding service, in addition to clear explanation, they have a shuttle car to the parking lot and to the lobby for the 4 minute walk! Staff is so kind and friendly. The price tag of the room is so fair that I had low expectations. However everything in the hotel surpass my expectations. Now I understand why the hotel is recommended to be one of the best in the city.

Our room was very comfortable and a good size for two people. The view of Sakurajima is amazing. The onsen is very nice with a good view of the volcano. The free bus shuttle runs frequently until late in the evening, so it was convenient to get back and forth to the city. The on-site Family Mart is also very convenient. The staff are very courteous and helpful. They even arranged for an item I left in the room to be delivered to my address on mainland Japan. Very impressive service!

There is a convenient shuttle bus from the train station, but we came via ferry (2200Y). It has a lovely view of the Sakurajima and is a few hundred feet from the look-out point. The staff is very accommodating and professional. The onsen on site had a good view of the volcano with a very narrow, long pool outside. The buffet won a travel site's top breakfast buffet in the city for four years in a row. We just didn't have a view of the volcano from our room. The back half isn't much to look at. There's also a convenience store on the first floor for any necessities. There's even a brewery and bakery with limited items. Their loaf pan was very soft and luscious. The bus driver wouldn't open the side loading hold for luggage on the way back down to the train station.
