Shore Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at Shore Hotel for our first visit to the Isle. Weather was sun sun sun which was a surprise Fabulous room (room 2) we have never stayed anywhere with such fantastic views from our room and also the restaurant and bar. Huge free car park and garden area if you fancy a drink outdoors. A dozen steps and you can be on the beach, ideal location for sightseeing around the island . We will certainly return and pick up the few things we found closed or unavailable this visit.

Had a great couple of nights here. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice buzz to this obviously popular place. Brilliant food. Room was great, overlooking the bay. Only downside was a bit of traffic noise, but we could live with that for the view.

We had lunch at The Shore with extended family including our 4 month old baby. The food was average. It is not at all child friendly - on arrival we were told pushchairs weren't permitted in the restaurant (despite having told them clearly on the phone we would be bringing one). The alternative they offered was that we could balance our car seat on a dining chair for him, which we declined because it obviously wasn't safe for our son. We've been to much busier venues and never had an issue with this before - it was really quite strange. The staff were rude and went so far as lying about the telephone conversation we had regarding the pram. We won't be returning.
