Shrigley Hall Hotel

Me and my bf stayed at Shrigley for two nights to celebrate my birthday, and we absolutely loved it . it was our best weekend ever! The spa was fantastic and so relaxing. The outdoor pool was amazing, and the water temperature was just perfect. The food was really nice, and check-in was quick. we didn’t have to wait long at all. Emma and Richard made our stay extra special! They were both so helpful and really funny , they truly made a difference in our experience. All the staff were very friendly, and the customer service was amazing from start to finish. If I had to mention one small thing (which isn’t the hotel’s fault) the bar was very busy, and we couldn’t get a seat at first. Later, we found out from reception that there was a wedding happening, which made sense. We still enjoyed the music and the lively atmosphere. it added to the experience! In the restaurant wine glass not been very clean but we mentioned for the staff and they handled really professional and changed the glass. We’ll definitely be coming back again. We stayed one night including a bottle of prosecco, £30 pp dinner allowance & breakfast which we thought was good value but it is worth mentioning there were shortfalls. Beautiful estate and surroundings with a heated pool & spa which we did not use. Our room was overlooking some kind of air ventilation system outside which was very noisy. My wife thought the a/c in the room was noisy but there was no A/C in the room. The bed albeit big was too soft and not comfortable. The wardrobe was rattling when we walked in the room. Both starters at dinner were frozen but still tasty. The lamb rump was very good but braised beef was dry and bland. We were surprised that our bottle of prosecco was not served to us at restaurant but we had to grab a bottle from reception, carry to restaurant and then ask the restaurant for a bucket. Presentation of the dishes and service quality were good. A bit chaotic during breakfast as the main restaurant was very congested. Breakfast was average at best. Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced but they had no espresso cups so I was served espresso in a mug🤭 We did not play golf but the course looked very well maintained.

My mum and I had a lovely time enjoying the morning spa package. The staff were very welcoming, and both the spa treatment and lunch were excellent. The facilities were pleasant, though somewhat limited—with only a steam room, pool, and hot tub available—and a few areas felt a little tired. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
