Durango. Full of History, great location for the Hotel. Spent a night here, however it wasn’t enough, definitely going to return. Lovely clean room, staff very friendly. Had a meal in the restaurant and it was fantastic, relaxed later in the bar area with a glass of wine then a perfect nights sleep. 5 stars
The location is very lovely, and so was the reception team. Our stay could have been a very acceptable experience but the access point coverage was not insufficient in two rooms. My biggest discovery was that gym costs €5 daily for guests despite being listed as an amenity. There also was no coffee machine in the rooms which is weird for a 4 star hotel.
Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Silken Durango. The hotel is lovely and in a great location. Rooms are fine, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, mini bar. Breakfast is great, with a varied selection, and fresh. We had dinner at the hotel one night at it was very nice and reasonably priced. Couple of things let the hotel down. We were in Durango mountain biking and chose the hotel as the website mentions there is bike storage. This turns out to be a shed with no electricity. This is an issue when you are using e-bikes and they need charging overnight. There are 3 plug points in the underground parking and only one works! The one behind the bins. We asked the hotel staff for an extension lead or plug and they did not have one. This is why the hotel only gets 2 stars for service, not because they didn't have a lead, but because they were really unhelpful and could not / would not help us find a solution. In the end we spent Sunday morning looking for an open shop (which is rare in Durango) and one that sold extension leads. We got lucky, found one and were able to charge our bikes. We went back to the hotel Sat in the foyer and then saw extension plugs all over the place!!! English is not widely spoken in the North, so perhaps things got lost in translation. Other small points - no slippers in the room. We used the spa (which is lovely), but you can only enter it you have flip flops. We had to pay 6E for these, on top of the 18E to enter the spa and you can only use one towel. The lady there was very insistent/ bordering rude in enforcing this. Again as a guest of the hotel and paying extra for spa use, I don't think a second towel is too much to ask. Also the outdoor pool is shut and this was not mentioned on the website when booking. We deliberately booked somewhere with a pool. Overall it's a nice hotel. The catering staff were lovely, reception staff were not great. I prob would stay here again and would know to bring an extension lead next time.
