Great place to stay if you are looking for something different. Despite beautiful industrial styling it was a comfortable place to stay. Quiet little town with nice places to eat.

We'll worth booking into SiloStay if you want to experience a unique place to stay. It is 2 story inside a silo as the name suggests. The first floor contains a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and toilet. Upstairs is the bedroom, shower and basin. It also has a balcony with a great view of the mountains. This is not a fancy place but has everything you need and is very well built. There is also a one story silo designed to accommodate wheel chairs.

Interesting, unique concept for a motel/ apartment. We enjoyed our stay here. The units are fully equipped for a long stay. Featuring a full kitchen, outfitted with everything you need. Beds are nice, comforters are soft & comfortable. Nice sized bathroom and shower. Our unit lacked A/C. Tried leaving the sliding door open for ventilation which resulted in flies and bees getting in the room. So we were not able to leave it open. Had to deduct a star due to the T.V. and satellite not working. Reception was terrible. It wasn't working when we checked in. Never got fixed. Frustrating. Very small sink. And no real shelf space next to the sink. There was a small shelf over the toilet. There are restaurants, coffee shop and convenience store right next door which is nice. Would I stay here again...IDK...I might just drive into Akaroa. Lots of restaurants there. Dolphin tours. More expensive though... Enjoyed our stay here. The owner was very nice.
