Silversmith Hotel Chicago Downtown

An overall excellent experience at the Silversmith Hotel, from reservations, check-in, the room, the location and especially the service. The location is ideal if you're looking to spend time in the loop. So much within walking distance, access the the L is right outside the front door. Perfect. The beds were comfortable, the room clean and spacious. Coffee and water available at all times. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I will stay again and highly recommend this hotel. Thanks for a great stay.

I came into Chicago for business and an event and thanks to the ever amazing Ms. Beverly, at the front desk, I was able to accomplish so much more. From the time I arrived to the moment I was checking out she was pleasant, helpful, friendly, professional, and joyfully welcoming!! She made sure I knew where to eat, where to view, where to relax (besides my lovely room of course), and where to just enjoy Chicago!!! If you want to truly experience the city, Ms. Beverly will ensure you are fully equipped to do exactly that!! And I can assure you as you come and go, she will welcome you back with a familiar smile and even ask you about how your experience went--very thoughtful to recall her guests in that way :-) Another great feature of this hotel is BEN -- he is an awesome bartender and lovely human being! He excels at making drinks but he goes beyond that. He remembers your face and what you like and truly does not want to disappoint your palate. He is very personable and oozes energy that says 'I am glad you are here and I want you to feel welcome , well cared for, and heard when you sit at the bar.' Many other hotels may share the same amenities as Silversmith Hotel, however, they do not have Bev and Ben, and those two alone are worth the stay!!! Outside of them, the rooms were nice and clean. I had no issues with noise. The shower has good pressure and gets immensely hot. I had plenty of towels and wash cloths. The king bed was super cozy. And the security measures made me feel safe even getting in late. The location made walking to food, shopping, and experiences easily accessible. I would highly recommend Silversmith Hotel to anyone visiting the Chicago area.

We checked in on 7/18. We were given key cards for room 703. I entered room 703. It was someone else’s room. Someone’s belongings were in the room. How did the front desk make up for this? Two free drinks. Hilarious. I would be livid if someone entered my hotel room when I wasn’t in there. Occupants of room 703 will never know that total strangers were given keys to their room. Mind blown! I hope you see this so you can hold the hotel responsible. Update since leaving: We were charged $790 for valet parking. We were there four nights. Hopefully they resolve this better than our initial issue. Luckily, credit card transactions can be disputed. We have now disputed the charge because hotel staff can’t seem to figure out how to send an email. Gave them two different email addresses. NOTHING. This place needs investigated for fraud.
