The food is too basic, more like a 2* hotel. Rooms are outdated, the temperature of the shower water in our bathroom was difficult to regulate, it was 50 degrees minimum, as in a sauna. The restaurant has a semi-transparent roof, so (surprise!) it is very hot there, despite some air conditioning. Some renovation on the last floor (probably pool leakage). Pool was closed, btw. We’ve been there one night (half night, in fact) due to the flight cancellation by TUI.
I was taken to this hotel by the airline due to the flight being delayed. It looks like a decent hotel, until you actually look at it properly- it is very dated, all the amenities really need renewal. The strong smell of food filled the room on the 6th floor early in the morning which makes me think the ventilation in the building is faulty, it was as if I was in the middle of the kitchen, terrible smell. Water in the shower stopped while I was having a shower, and then it turned out there was no water hot or cold in the bathroom whatsoever. As I was in a rush to get to the airport I didn't have time to report it until I was leaving and I also missed my transfer to the airport as I had to use the bottled water to wash off the foam. The only nice point to mention is the stuff- every one is very polite and helpful. But there's nothing that can be done apart from closing this hotel down and renovating completely. It claims to be 5*, but it can hardly get 3 for what it has to offer.
Awful place! ** BEWARE ** Ignore other websites like UK Hotels etc that sit this around a 7/10 this place is horrendous- where to start? This place isnt a hotel it’s a holding pen like animals - the airlines must pay them to keep this open so they can send customers there when flights get cancelled as there are no genuine guests in this hotel only those sent in purgatory waiting for their flights home. They treat you like a second class citizen if you are with easyJet by limiting you to two soft drinks a day, padlocking the fridge and the staff don’t care that’s it’s 35 degrees and you have young kids ‘thems the rules’. Obviously it reflects on whatever deal EasyJet have with them but you have TUI and JET2 customers on site with you who get true all inclusive (food is terrible though so it’s only drinks you’re missing out on) it makes you feel awful. We had mixed messages and at one point a staff member called Enner tried to say we weren’t allowed drinks and asked for money from us when we were. They put us in room 805, you’ll see from the previous review by Dimitry that the hotel tried to say the upper floor was out of bounds and being renovated - this is another lie by the hotel we were in a room unsafe with many trip hazards including on top of the steep wooden stairs, water leaks, we were delayed 3 DAYS and at one point my youngest (4) was crying saying his sides hurt because the hard outdated sofa bed wasn’t fit for purpose, we also asked for a proper pillow for him and we were denied saying that they didn’t have one so for 3 nights he used a hard cushion and would wake with pain. The air con didn’t work properly in the room and being on the top floor level 8 it was very hot, I did report this to reception and was given an extra key card to run the air con but it didn’t fully resolve how hot it was. Food is horrendous, chips and onion rings at breakfast reheated from the night before, wilted salads etc that had clearly been out too long. our last night there food was out with only about 3 rooms in use in the whole hotel just sweating for hours, I think as this is a relief hotel they make the food and try and make it last by re-using and re-heating as they never know when guests may arrive due to cancelled flights, this makes sense, as we arrived at 2am and they were saying to go and eat so it just sits for hours. There was a helpful nice lady on reception (lighter/blonde hair), otherwise most staff were unsympathetic and unhelpful (maintenance people and cleaners were nice though). As this is a relief hotel for annoyed delayed passengers they probably are used to people being frustrated so they’ve become desensitised to it and become uncaring. AVOID THIS HOTEL If easyJet/TUI/Jet2 etc say they are sending you there and you booked a decent 4/5 star standard all inclusive hotel (Sky Business is not even a two star in the middle of nowhere remotely touristy) I would recommend refuse and find another hotel that is representative of what you paid for not this dump. I’m sure the hotel will respond with something to try and explain away or twist the truth as above but everything I’ve written is truth and the opinion of many frustrated delayed passengers I spoke to.
