Sky Gem Hotel Ben Thanh

Stayed here for 5 nights in July 2025, it was fantastic, location couldn't be better, and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was great, and really loved the breakfast. Also I left my suit in the wardrobe when I departed, and they were super helpful in arranging to have it shipped back to me in New Zealand, will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Ho Chi Minh City.

Close walking distance to the sights, central location is excellence. Staff were outstanding & helpful. Good buffet breakfast options included in price. An older style building but the pool was getting a remake on the morning we left. Value for money, would definietly recommend.

This is a very basic hotel, yet they charge high room rates. Moreover, the staff—especially the housekeeping team—are quite dishonest. I am speaking from personal experience. I stayed here for three nights, and on the last night, I was suddenly told that I had burned the bathtub with a cigarette. They said I would have to pay a heavy penalty for it. When I asked them to show me a photo of the bathtub before I checked into the room, they replied that it was my responsibility to click a photo of it after checking in. Despite repeatedly telling them that I had done no such thing, the hotel staff refused to listen and forced me to pay a penalty of 200 USD. This is the kind of fraud we were subjected to. We are returning from Vietnam with very bad memories. (Attached below is the photo in which you can barely see any visible damage to the bathtub.)
