Recently, my wife and I spent around a month visiting Australia and New Zealand. Out of the 12 hotels we used during our vacation, this one was one of the best. Location was great, the room has a great lighting system, the tile in the shower floor felt really good on your feet, and the room was one of the only hotels that had a book shelf in it. Thank you Sky City for the great experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sky Tower Hotel, the kids were absolutely delighted with all the activities on offer, and the staff were fantastic. The location is unbeatable, and waking up to take the kids up the Sky Tower was a real highlight. However, I did notice that the lower ring of the Sky Tower itself looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. As such an iconic landmark that represents New Zealand to international visitors, it deserves to be maintained to a higher standard. It’s quite a stark contrast to the otherwise pristine experience of the hotel and surrounding facilities. Hopefully, this can be passed along to the team responsible for upkeep, as it would really enhance the impression guests and visitors get of this national treasure. Otherwise, a brilliant stay, and I would absolutely recommend the Sky Tower Hotel to anyone visiting Auckland.

Skycity Hotel offers a decent stay overall—clean rooms and a convenient location—but it doesn’t stand out as anything particularly special. What truly undercuts the experience is the Skycity' loyalty program. Despite multiple stays, I’ve yet to receive a single point. Staff will confidently assure you they'll be credited, only for them to quietly vanish into the void. When questioned, reception attributes it to third-party bookings—yet strangely, others who booked the same way seem to have no issue. If you’re looking for a straightforward hotel and aren’t too concerned about service follow-through or perks, this place might work. But if you're after reliability and genuine hospitality, you may want to explore other options.
