We recently stayed at SLO Brew Lofts for our wedding weekend at The Carrisa (right downstairs!), and it was the perfect home base for our celebrations. While the price tag might give you a pause, let me tell you, it's absolutely worth it! Here's why SLO Brew Lofts stole a piece of our hearts: Boutique Charm: The vibe is undeniably chic and boho, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. It felt like a luxurious stay in a friend's stylish apartment. Cleanliness A+: The loft was spotless and beautifully maintained. It felt fresh and comfortable, perfect for unwinding after a day of wedding festivities. Convenience King: Location, location, location! Being right next door to The Carrisa was incredibly convenient, especially for those last-minute touches. Plus, exploring downtown SLO was a breeze. Parking Solved (Almost): Street parking can be tricky, but SLO Brew Lofts provides complimentary parking passes, taking the stress out of finding a spot. Stacia Saves the Day: Huge shoutout to Stacia, the property manager! When we accidentally locked ourselves on the rooftop (don't ask!), Stacia answered our call immediately and helped us out in a flash. Now that's top-notch service! If you're looking for a stylish, comfortable, and centrally located place to stay while soaking in all that San Luis Obispo has to offer, then look no further than SLO Brew Lofts. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience the best of downtown SLO! Photography by Nadine Wendorff
Recently renovated by the owners of SLO Brew. The new location offers a lot more space than the old one, and also certain amenities that are completely new. It has a somewhat posh atmosphere with hip decorations and large radial seating anchored to the brick walls. The best part of this new location is that it has an outdoor patio on the creek, which feels really wonderful. The staff are about the same as they were before. It takes a while to get a drink, but the bartenders are usually attentive and speedy. The beers they make are all fairly tasty, and it's obvious the brewmaster is a seasoned veteran. They're all fairly low alcohol selections, but they do offer some really unique seasonal choices from time to time that are fantastic. The food is also pretty good, but not spectacular. It's the kind of thing you might expect from a taproom like Firestone or Sierra Nevada. A little overpriced, but rarely disappointing. If you are staying at the loft above, you should know that it gets quite loud at SLO Brew around 10pm, and often stays that way till about 1am. It's the kind of place I would recommend if you want to party and really cut loose in downtown SLO. If you're looking to turn in early though, I hope you're a deep sleeper.
Pros: Central location close to great eats, drinks, and shopping. Spacious, comfortable, attractive and well-appointed accommodations. Cons: Noise level from the bar/club below the lofts can be intense. I cannot overstate the negative impact of the noise on our stay experience - caveat emptor. Parking is a few blocks from the building, which isn't a big issue unless you're not able to unload/load due to street closure for events.
