We had a wonderful stay at the SLS Barcelona. This brand-new seafront hotel impresses with modern design, excellent amenities, and exceptionally friendly and attentive service. Most staff members were genuinely welcoming, especially the bellboys, pool bar staff, and breakfast team. The location is well-connected – you can reach the T4 tram station in just about 4 minutes and be in the city center within about 10 to 15 minutes. However, the path leads past a neighboring waste incineration plant, which is not the most pleasant sight (or smell), but didn't impact our stay inside the hotel at all. There are three beautiful pools with quite cool water. Two of those are stunning infinity pools on the first floor and the rooftop, offering spectacular views of the marina. A beach is also nearby, though we didn’t have the time to visit it. One small point of criticism: some information on the hotel website was outdated at the time of our stay. For instance, breakfast on Fridays ends at 10:30 am (not 11:00 as stated), and the rooftop pool closes at 7:00 pm, not 9:00 pm. These were only minor issues and did not detract from an otherwise excellent experience. All in all, SLS Barcelona is a fantastic hotel with a currently still reasonable price-performance ratio. Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again!
SLS Hotel Barcelona was an exceptional choice for our wedding guests, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! The hotel’s stunning, modern design wowed everyone, and the staff’s professionalism, warmth, and responsiveness were truly unmatched. From the moment we arrived, every detail was handled with care—room service was prompt and thoughtful, the décor throughout the hotel was chic and elegant, and the hospitality made us and our guests feel genuinely cared for. The food at every restaurant within the hotel was absolutely fantastic. Whether it was a casual poolside lunch or a refined dinner, each meal was beautifully presented and consistently delicious, elevating the experience for everyone. Although the hotel is a bit outside downtown Barcelona, that ended up being a perfect trade-off. The peaceful setting offered a relaxing escape from the city’s hustle, and the hotel itself had so much to offer—gorgeous pools, lively bars, and an evening lounge with a DJ that brought great energy. It was also incredibly convenient for keeping our large group together in one place, and the line of taxis always available out front made getting into the city seamless. We had a bit of hesitation about booking a newer hotel, but SLS completely exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail, impeccable service, and overall experience made for a flawless and memorable stay. We highly recommend it!
I visit Barcelona a few times a year and I'm always looking for a better hotel. This time I chose SLS and I have very mixed feelings. The hotel has only been open for 3 months, but it still has a lot to improve for a 5-star hotel. The rooms are great. There’s nothing to complain about. Pools and the chill area: a lot to improve. There are too few sun beds for such a big hotel. There’s some sort of reservation list, but it doesn’t match reality. You provide your details, but it’s not respected at all, and honestly, if you’re lucky, you get a sun bed. It’s a mess. Ice: there’s an ice container in the room, but if you want to use it, you need to call room service, and they’ll bring you a new one. They charge 5 EUR for the service. It’s a very odd standard. What’s the point of having it if you can’t actually use it? Smell in the lobby: the scent mixes with a strange smell from the sewer. They definitely need to work on this because the combination of smells is really weird. It seems like the bad smell is being masked by perfume. Hotel attractions: there are quite a few, but to find out about them, you have to look for the information yourself. The staff doesn’t have time to explain, which is understandable, but it would be nice to have some hotel information available in the room. Breakfast: considering I’ll be here for a few more days, I don’t want to buy it just yet because I don’t want to be disappointed. The breakfast is not cheap. Given that it’s a 5-star hotel, you expect a bit more than what you’re getting right now. 2/5
