Smartr Atocha Reina Sofia

No checking in lobby, need a code to get in. About 10 steps up with heavy bags to tiny elevator. Strange narrow dingy hallways. Felt like a hostel. Room: bed and kitchen were okay. Sofa coffee table and area rug were filthy with ugly stains. Made me feel not cozy. Toilet flusher thing stuck in down position with water running and could not flush. Asked for a new room or repair via text and was told someone could fix in the am and no other rooms available. Well we checked in at midnight and left at 6 am so not helpful. Also don’t believe hotel was booked, they just didn’t care to help us. Would not go back here.

This hotel was not honest in its online advertising. They list luggage storage but do not provide the service, and refused any attempt to remedy the issue. The shower also required maintenance durning our 1-night stay.

A complete disaster!!! From the check in, customer service and the crappy digital lock that didn’t work. Have to wait hours until they send someone to fix it. Avoid these apartments, go to a place with real people at the reception. Trust me, otherwise you’ll get stuck with WhatsApp messages, and tacky customer service!
