It is not the first time we are staying at Smeraldo, and we are always satisfied with everything: service, food, rooms, beach! This time we were pleasantly surprised by the changes — especially, we noted a great breakfast: Eva is very responsible, caring and gentle; as well as Barbara is very attentive and welcoming. The receptionists are always ready to answer all requests and give advice, recommending delicious and beautiful locations! I would especially like to note the professionalism of Emiliano, who has been meeting us at the hotel for all the years we have been there (and this is our sixth time here!).

I agree with one of the review that it is in a sense a big hotel however managed more as a small one. There is everything including spa but attention to details can help :) Big plus for parking, being dog friendly, bar and restaurant on side as well as super kind staff at the breakfast! They work really hard. The molo is just on the other side of a street as the beach and beach bars. We have spent there only two nights and haven’t started our stay with a good impression. At the end, the hotel supported us on the second day so our stay was 50/50;) We decreased the rating from 5 to 4 for the communication as well as we consider a standard of the facilities as 3+. The standard room was clean but older, small and some of these were ona. First floor behind reception. There was also a misunderstanding about the air con in a property that it is switched off during low season. Our first room got heated to 27 degrees and without sleeping with open windows with no nets it was very difficult - especially for someone that had a small surgery and came to recover. We fully get the point of saving and being environmental friendly but would highly recommend to improve a communication (as the note could be sent via booking.com message and the user could choose to stay or look for more suitable place) as well as to advise the reception on what to communicate to visitors:) we have spoken with 3-4 different people and got different feedback from all of them including that the room was heated as the night before was very cold which was obviously not true. If someone would be kind and treat us fairly once we checked in (first time addressed) it would save a lot of frustration on both sides. For second day, hotel changed our room to studio type and it was of a better standard, comfortable, spacey and what is the most important - colder !! There is also a swimming pool (quite small) as well as gym (small). The roof terrace where the gym is is not fully used though which is a pity! There was a lot of visitors already and they seemed to enjoy so it may be that we have got very unlucky with the first room.
