My en-suite room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfortable and the owner and the chap who welcomed me could not have been more helpful 👍

My husband and I spent a week here. We liked everything: the food (we took breakfasts), the room (clean and functional- with fridge, kettle, microwave oven), the district (safe and decent). But most of all I'd like to thank people: the owner (very efficient and friendly), and among the staff I'd like to point out Avad (he treated us, foreigners, as his close relatives and dearest friends)

Recommended by all means! For me, it was a perfect accommodation during the conference at The American University in Cairo. For anyone attending any event at AUC, just the right choice. Less than 10 minutes pleasant walk from Smile Apartment 2 to AUC Gate 4 (Pepsi Gate). At the same time, after my 5 days stay, and after talking to so many colleagues who stayed elsewhere in Cairo, Smile 2 appears to be a very good choice for anyone who comes to Cairo. 1. The Location: easily reachable by car from Cairo International airport, no need to go through the heavy traffic in the city centre. Less than 30 minutes’ drive by car or taxi. A quiet little street, less than 100 meters walk and one is on AUC avenue, the University is just across the road. For those doing sightseeing in the city centre: around 45 minutes by taxi to Zamalek island, for example. Make sure to double the time during rush hours if there are meetings/events to be on time for, just in case. Cairo traffic may be unpredictable. And still: the apartment, the service, the value for money, and most of all, the owner and his staff are so great, Smile 2 is worth choosing even if one focuses on the city centre. 2. The neighborhood: decent and safe any time of the day. The part of New Cairo next to AUC campus still has some areas being developed, but overall, it already has everything: the shops, the cafes, good roads and very nice sidewalks next to AUC. 3. Apartment quality: excellent room. Very functional. Comfortable bed, the just right mattress, pillows and blanket – I have always slept well. No noises, alien smells or whatever. Very clean laundry and room itself. The sink, the shower, the air conditioning- in a word, everything in good working condition. There was a fridge, a microwave oven and an electric kettle in my room. Just remember to get teabags and sugar if needed. 4. The service: great, responsible and highly responsive owner and staff. Whatever one needs, just ask and help and/or advice is given, quickly and efficiently. One of the staff is in the lobby or by the entrance 24/7. Exceptionally convenient: one can check in, go out or return any time of the day or night. Very friendly! I absolutely fell in love with Egypt after this stay, especially because of the great Smile 2 apartment team, the great owner, Mr. Khaled and his staff (especially Mamdouh, he is amazing). 5. The breakfasts: for 3 US dollars a day (the price at the time of my stay) one gets a hearty breakfast. Very tasty, too. Just tell the owner and/or the staff you need it one day before. Smile 2 has its own little yard, several tables with chairs, with beautiful trees and flowers around. Great atmosphere! I attached the photos of this yard, this was where I had my breakfasts in the mornings before going to conference events at AUC or in the city centre. 6. Wifi access: free wifi for guests. The signal may be better downstairs in the lobby or in the inner yard, but one can still use e-mail, social networks or whatever in the room, too. In summary, judging by what dozens of colleagues staying elsewhere in Cairo said about their accommodation, no matter which budget, I am convinced I made the best choice and I recommend it to others. Next time I come to Cairo, I will definitely choose Smile 2 apartment again.
