Sobreiras Alentejo Country Hotel

a great get away location if you want peace and quiet. the rooms are very nice although we all found it strange that there was no door on the bathroom/toilet to separate it from the room. its a little annoying that you have to tell the hotel what time you want breakfast the next day as they have limited space and staff, the same with the evening meal if you wish to eat in the restaurant. we found it quite annoying that when the kids requested drinks or snacks next to the pool area that they were told the staff were on break and would serve them in 30 minutes although when us adults requested something for the kids they attended to it straight away realising that they could not fob off the adults. a really lovely place, have stayed there in the rooms and also in the villas (the villas have doors on the bathrooms LOL

Interesting, modern, built. Rooms were very clean and set up in a private kind of rustic architecture. The Luso-Brazilian Personal/Staff we’re very much kind and caring. As we check out and must leave before the breakfast time, early in the morning, the staff made a nice packed lunch.

The service was bad, there was mould in the rooms, etc. I don't even know where to start, but this was the worst hotel experience we've had in a long time. We booked two rooms for two adults and two children under 10, and asked if they could be next to each other. They told us that they would do it. Upon arrival, however, the rooms were far apart. When we entered the room, it smelled of mould. I asked the staff if we could change rooms because of the mould, but they said there wasn't any. Well, there was – see my pictures of the wardrobe. The service was pretty bad. We wanted to sit outside, but we had to carry everything outside ourselves, even though the staff were watching. This was not the only issue with the service. We felt that the staff just didn't care about anything. The kids' playground is falling apart. You have to reserve a table for dinner at a certain time, starting at 9 pm, but honestly, my kids are almost asleep by then. We always ate dinner in nearby restaurants, which were fantastic. Coming back to the service, when I checked out, I wasn't even asked how our stay was. Had they asked, I would have told them. Almost forgot that you can hear everything from your neighbors, the walls are very thin
