Soepp Hotel & Restaurant

Enjoyed our stay in Alkmaar, it was clean and very close to the city. The rooms are a bit small, but you don't pay a very high price, so you can't expect 4 star hotel. Staff were friendly and helpfull if you needed any help. Housekeeping staff even offered to carry our bags, that was super nice! We would come back, stayed for 10 days.

Friendly staff. Rooms are small but this is advertised on website. We had a baby with us which made the room a bit too small. But for 2 people its fine. Nice clean room. There were several groups of people but was good quiet at nights. The location is really nice right in middle of town centre. Supermaket, bars its all close. For the price and location very recommended. If you look for more comfort and space this is not your place to go. But if you spend most day out and mostly need for sleep its perfect.

Negatives... 1. No lift, not good if your room on third floor and one of the party currently has mobility problems. 2. No hand rail on the turn of the stairs to floor 2 in house 3. 3. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, not even a bottle of water - things you would normally expect in a Hotel these days, and we were paying for a hotel room not a hostel room! 4. I hate to be negative about a member of staff, but at reception upon arrival he was less than helpful, and this was in sharp contrast with the lovely staff the rest of the time. Positives.... 1. Staff at reception in the morning / breakfast time were first class. 2. Breakfast was good. 3. Excellent location. 4. We liked the idea of being offered a "reward" if we did not need housekeeping (thanks for the Stroopwafels!) 5. Convenient car parking. 6. Reception is a good place to "watch the world go by". 7. Having recovered from the negativity at reception on the first night we enjoyed our stay at Kings Inn and if we return to Alkmaar we would stay again (but would ask for a ground floor room next time) Thank you
