We had the most incredible stay at the Sofitel in Hanoi! We stayed at a lot of 5 star accommodations on our travels throughout Vietnam, but this stood out as our clear favorite. The hotel is like an oasis of peace in the city. It is a beautifully designed hotel. The food was great, the drinks were strong, and the service was attentive. If you get the opportunity to stay at this hotel, please do! It was an incredible experience. We wish we had more time to spend here
Me and my husband had a 2 night stay at Metropole and it was such a wonderful and magical experience! We got upgraded to a club room which gave us access to the lounge that offers a very decent happy hour everyday, it has a nice drinks selection and a high quality spread of food. They even have fresh oysters and very decent quality smoked salmon served, which is quite rare for a hotel lounge. The room itself is very charming and very clean - we stayed at the opera wing, we would love to experience the heritage wing next time. The housekeeping ladies did a good job keeping the room clean and everytime we go back to the room it looks fresh again! The staff is very professional and well trained, the hosts, the poolside staff, the restaurant staff, they are all very well manners and happy to take care of you. Shout out to Howard the majordome, thanks again for the pampering arrangements which made our stay so much more enjoyable. The poolside staff, super proactive and attentive. We also enjoyed the heritage tour which allowed us to visit the bunker and insight into the history of the hotel and war time Vietnam. Absolutely love the breakfast, we went to both the Beaulieu which has a smaller spread and a made to order menu, the restaurant is stunning. The spice garden is the one with a fuller spread, egg station and pho station, a more classic hotel breakfast spread which is also very good. They even have egg coffee there! The serenity of the Hotel gave us a safe haven to recharge everytime after exploring the bustling Hanoi. The location is fantastic, we went everywhere by walk. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone - I’ll come back here myself next time!
We arrived at night and found a very friendly and welcoming staff. The room we got was booked on booking.com and we found it a bit small because there was no space to hold the suitcase and put our things on. The pool area is fantastic, the Spa and Gym lovely. The location is good and close to the lake and crowded authentic areas. You can walk everywhere within 45 min. The bar Angelina in the hotel is super stylish. The price for the room at 250 Euro per night is absolutely enough to pay in Hanoi. I wouldn’t spend more than, it is still a city on its rising. In July was brutally hot , no sun, humidity like under the shower! Still, great to experience the Vietnamese culture and see such different to Europe world. This hotel is a perfect base to be.
