It was a true pleasure for our family to stay at this Sofitel, perfectly located in the heart of Manhattan, just steps from Fifth Avenue. We were truly captivated by the sophistication of the setting: spacious rooms, tastefully appointed with exquisite attention to detail. The staff, consistently attentive and genuinely warm, played a key role in making our stay all the more enjoyable. Though the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, it remains a haven of comfort and serenity amidst the vibrant pulse of New York City. We look forward to returning.
We arrived at 7 am after a flight was cancelled, and the manager was excellent in finding us a room so we could sleep. For the entire stay, all the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is located in a very good area.
This hotel is an embarrassment to the Sofitel brand. The front desk staff were incredibly rude. Zero recognition for platinum Accor status, when I arrived the hotel was full so a room upgrade wasn’t possible (fair enough, nothing that can be done about that) but there was no need to be rude about it. I politely asked if given the lack of upgrade they can do something else for me like throw in breakfast on account of the platinum status (I know this isn’t an entitlement on weekdays, but the Frankfurt Sofitel had done exactly that without me asking the week before - in addition to giving me a room upgrade). The front desk man snickered at me and replied “this isn’t Europe”. Clearly not, but it is a French brand. No help with bags, room outdated and didn’t even have tea or coffee making facilities. Was put in a room with two single beds despite being a solo business traveler. US$15 for a tea to be delivered room service, and $50 for a very average omelette and a coffee at breakfast. I emailed them to complain about the front desk incident and they never replied. Oh, the cleaners were lovely though, I gave them a tip! Only nice people on the property. What a joke of a hotel
