I had quarantine for 2 weeks, and the first time arrived at the room I was very satisfied with its beds were very comfortable, and the quality was the very good best hotel I've been to. Give 5 stars. The services were excellent. Foods were fine was eatable. Easy to see the outside view from the room. Quite big room very satisfied I would I highly recommend it if you're planning to travel to Ningbo after this pandemic is over and no more quarantine to do. About 30 minutes to the airport, and bus waiting to go to airport or train station.

Having stayed in the past, the Sofitel Wanda has suffered during covid but survived by making service cuts. Restaurants, spas, and a few other amenities are reduced or not available and the breakfast buffet offerings are reduced. Also, fewer English-speaking staff were on site but expected as English-speaking visitors were virtually non-existent for Three years. Despite that, I will return as the hotel has the potential to return to its former glory and is conveniently located in a void section of Ningbo and close to many shops and malls. The gym remains open with reduced hours, and the remaining staff are friendly and helpful going out of their way to make guests comfortable.

I've traveled throughout China multiple times and visited many stunning hotels. During it's day this hotel was grand, but unfortunately it's time has pasted. The rooms are looking their age, the carpets worn and wallpaper bubbling. The bed is comfortable and well appointed but the rooms are tired. Flying in from Xi'an the previous hotel spoiled me both in surroundings and breakfast. The Sofitel breakfast was poorly lacking and the quality was missing. In Xi'an I'd to waiting patiently for the breakfast buffet to open, like Christmas morning, as a child. In the case of the Sofitel I navigated the breakfast buffet because it was included. The decor at the buffet was actually creepy and had a series of scattered river rock with what looked like white crystal power as a backdrop. It was wasn't appetizing to look at. During a request for help with my room air conditioning someone at the front desk was extremely helpful, said he would send some one to fix it and offered a discount on a massage. When I got back to the room later that night the tempature was at the same level as before which made sleeping difficult. I called down to hear that there was nothing they could do and the main system regulated the temperature. I knew this was BS put decided not to proceed as I had only 2 nights left. The massage was awesome and the talented lady who administered the treatment used Google Translate to ask late in the massage "Would you like to be massaged anywhere else?" I suggested my head... the one with the ears :-). Overall the experience was average and unfortunately I would not return based on the tired feel of the room, the disappointing breakfast buffet and a warm room.
