Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema .

Stayed at a couple of Sofitels around the world, but this one is the best! The staff makes the most difference - super friendly, warm and helpful front desk staff that made us feel right at home for the entire stay. So many happy memories. The rooms were huge, stylishly decorated and had AWESOME views of the beach. Can't wait to go back to Rio and stay here again once the pandemic dies down a bit!

This place is in a great location, but the room I was given was so humid, it felt like my sheets were soaking wet when I slept. I asked to be moved to another room with a working dehumidifier, and was moved. This is an older aged looking hotel and I'm sure it was very good in its prime. The rooms look nice in the pictures, but in real life it was okay. The service is very good and there is chair and umbrella service at the beach included with your stay.

Great location, very nice breakfast, but the quality of service at the rooftop bar could be definitively improved. Furthermore (and that’s what ruined my experience) since I’m traveling with a baby and due to airplane schedule I asked for a late check out - and the best they can allow is 1pm (they would charge me half day for a 2pm check out). Very disappointing for a 5* to be honest after a one week stay. I won’t be back to this hotel for sure.
