I’ve spent almost a week here at Sol Costa Daurada and to say it was amazing is an understatement. The staff are so so friendly and always quick to help you with whatever you need. The entertainment for both young children and adults are always so fun and funny to see and take part in. There is always something different going on each night which I love as it never gets old! The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning and it’s great having that on after coming in from spending a day in the sun at their pool. The pool is the perfect size to accommodate all the guests they have, it’s never too crowded and there is a children’s side and then a more grown up side for older kids and adults. The outside bar has a great range of food and drink all day and late into the night and at such great prices too! The games room downstairs is perfect for entertaining the kids when it is too hot outside. The kids club is perfect for young children to take part in during the day and the staff there are so friendly. The cleaning staff are so accommodating and friendly and will look after you if you need anything at all. The food at the restaurant is top quality (we booked breakfast and dinner for here each night). I would definitely recommend staying here!
We spent 7 days at the Sol Costa Daurada hotel. While the bedrooms are quite basic they are clean and functional. We went half board getting breakfast and dinner provided. The quality and flavour combined with the variety of choice was wonderful. The best part of our stay was poolside, the staff running the poolside bar are all excellent, Miguel, Albert, Marina well done all. The hotel goes out of its way to have activities for all the family throughout the day, and late into the night. The Animation team, Mica, Chanel, and Juan are all excellent at getting the kids to join in and putting parents at their ease. Truly enjoyable holiday. Looking forward to going back for 10 days next year.
Stayed 7 days in the hotel, definitely not 4 stars. Our main issue was with the rooms, very outdated and basic. It felt like the hotel was trying to squeeze money out of you by getting you to pay for basic 4 star essentials which would ordinarily be expected like a safe or a kettle. There is no double beds in the hotel, or so we were told after we booked for a double room. Not very convenient for a romantic getaway with a partner. One of the beds also snapped when my partner sat down. The air conditioning could have been better, especially in the height of the summer. It was roasting at night time because of the poor system. The walls are also paper thin. When we attempted to address these issues the reception staff made it feel like we were an inconvenience to them, neither helpful nor friendly. Eluding to my next point about the food. We were half board and while there was a good selection of food everyday it was very average leaning towards poor in quality. Poor quality meat and bland food with cheap ingredients. Staff come over to you in the dining hall taking drink orders, we questioned whether this was included in our package and were told that one drink a night with dinner was included. We later found out that this was not the case. Charging money for guests to have water with their meal is ridiculous. The hotel is advertised as all inclusive, but is very sneaky with hidden charges. Again, when we tried to explain the situation to the reception staff but they were rude and unwilling to hear us out. For some pros, the hotel pool and bar staff were lovely and the hotel’s location was decent. Would not recommend for potential guests, and will not be returning. There are much better places to stay in Salou.
