Solaria Hanoi Hotel

Our recent stay at the Solaria hotel was wonderful. It started with a warm and attentive greeting from Susan, who was charming and helpful. As were all the staff, but her initial help and advice about Hanoi at check-in was greatly appreciated. The hotel location is great if you want access to the lake and the old quarter. Hoàn Kiếm lake is a wonderful place to start your mornings in Hanoi. The old quarter is, as you should expect, old, so streets are tight (lots of horns honking and little room to pull cars /taxi's over) and the building is obviously old, although I think it has been lovingly looked after and Solaria hotel makes the most out of what the building can offer. We had a larger room with a balcony, and stayed on the 6th floor, well away from any elevator or stair traffic, so our room was quite quiet, regarding other hotel guests and staff. The traffic noise comes in loud and clear from the balcony doors, but we didn't mind as we quite like feeling the atmosphere of a city and waking up knowing where you are. Could hear the bells at St Joseph's Cathedral ring each morning, which was great for us early risers, but more sensitive sleepers looking to lie in, may find it to be an unwanted alarm clock. The breakfast was delicious and well prepared with great instructions from the staff for anyone unfamiliar with the Vietnamese breakfast offerings. The Sol Sky Bar was a lovely place for evening drinks, with a great view of the Cathedral and great bar staff, willing to go above and beyond to create cocktails to suit your tastes. My only criticism would be, that I would love it to have been open earlier in the day (it opens at 4pm) so we could have spent more time enjoying the space there.

This is a perfect hotel. The room is in excellent condition. While breakfast is buffet style, you can also order menu, choosing between Vietnamese and Western cuisine. The food is very delicious, just like what you'd find at a restaurant. Staffs are incredibly friendly and kindly. During breakfast, the staff checks your condition by asking questions about your experience, including whether you had any inconveniences during your stay and whether your room was okay. They also provided me with train schedules that suited my schedule, helped me choose Grab locations, and recommended good restaurants, which was incredibly helpful during my trip. They were also very considerate of my needs, even providing me with a shower and snacks after checkout, which was incredibly touching. Thanks to them, I felt at home in a foreign country. Furthermore, the kindness they showed me shaped my impression of Hanoi. Although I returned home after my trip, I still reminisce about the precious memories I had at the Solaria Hotel. I miss Lily's adorable thumbs-up with smile, I still feel the warmth of Susan's hug to be careful, calling out my name. I remember Grace's warm words and her thoughtfulness in keeping my schedule in mind. I promised to return, and I want to see them again soon. I hope they find happiness at the Solaria Hotel, just as I did. Thank you. I hope many people will visit this perfect hotel.

This hotel is in a great location in the Old Quarter and close to the lake. We were easily able to walk many places. The staff was helpful and friendly, always looking for ways to make your stay even better. The breakfast choices were wonderful with options to order off a menu (both western and Vietnamese choices) as well as enjoy a buffet with many choices. The staff were very accommodating to a fish and seafood allergy. The room was nice with a large bathroom. They have a spa with many services and offer a discount for hotel guests. Special thanks to Susan, Summer, Lily, Maria and the entire breakfast team for making it a wonderful stay!
