We loved our stay here. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. Also the location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old city. An area of improvement would be providing a coffee machine and kitchen cleaning products (eg. tea towel and detergent). Other than that we were very satisfied.
First, the location is great. Close to everything in Old Town. Coming through the Buza Gate was a mistake as there were so so many steps to go down. Definitely come through the Pile gate as there are only a few steps up to the street from the Strada. Our hostess was very nice and communicated well with us. As with anything in Old Town - finding the place was confusing at first, but we quickly got the hang of it. BUT, our room was very small (expected) with absolutely no place to set your luggage and no place to put clothes if you are staying for multiple nights. No hangers, hooks, no wardrobe, no luggage rack, no drawers, etc. We were only staying one night so we were already planning to "live" out of our suitcase, but this place would have been very disappointing and frustrating for a longer stay where you would want to unpack and get settled. We would not stay here again, but it was fine for our one night before catching a cruise. The restaurant just across the street was lovely and so convenient. Really this hotel is convenient and just steps from the center of the Strada. If location is what you are looking for and you don't mind not being able to unpack AT ALL, and minimal amenities, you can stay here. Otherwise, maybe keep looking.
This place is not a hotel, it’s just someone’s home. And they weren’t here when I arrived (in the specified check in window, literally at 4pm). I rang the doorbell over and over and nobody was there. I eventually called through the app I used to book, and someone picked up and shouted some instructions for me to get inside and get into the room. At no point did I receive communication or instructions from the host, and at no point did I interact with them. The room was kind of dirty and lacked basic necessities, like soap in the bathroom. The bed was so small and the blanket could not even cover my body, and I’m not a huge guy. It’s very bare bones, and didn’t look like the photos… there is also this foul stench in the room that was painful to experience every time I re entered the room. The walls are very thin and you can hear every word and feel every step of the people in the other few rooms in the building. The people staying in the room next door threw a party and had a ton of other people over… because the host isn’t at the property, nobody was there to stop it. I’m glad I only stayed for one night in February and thankfully didn’t waste too much money on this experience. There was no process for checkout (again, this is just a random room in a random home and there was no contact with the host), so I just left the keys in the room, not really sure of what to do.
