Solitary Nook

Could not believe till the last , the place was so perfect. Had a warm reception by the hosts Tapas and Goutam. Amazing meal all the turn from breakfast to lunch to snacks to dinner. Sorrounded by trees and ponds fantastically decorated by nature had a wonderful stay. The boat tour inside the forests of Sundarban was equally pleasing.

It was the best package experience . We started off from Kolkata in a car arranged by Solitary nook and the driver - Dilip was a very good person. The car journey was comfortable as well, we were dropped off at Godhkhali Ferry ghat where a ferry arranged by them was already waiting for us to take us to Gosaba, where again two cars arranged for 9 of us was on standby. We reached Solitary nook property and it was beautiful. It was scenically pleasurable and their service was top notch! Amazing rooms and facilities according to the area , very decent behaviour by their host Tapas da, Goutam da and Their cook !!! The best! Manash da..amazing delicacies and preparations..everything was served and made available as promised according to the package. We had bonfire nights arrangements at a reasonable price for both the nights we stayed there. For sight seeing to different reserves a personal ferry for 9 of us was arranged ..they understood our needs and planned the visit accordingly. We were served fish fry and tea onboard. Lunch dinner tea everything was too good. Completely satisfied. They also arranged our return trip to Kolkata even though we stayed at Sonar Bangla one day without any questions..we had a safe and happy visit..all 9 of us including adults and children were really happy.. But I don’t have pictures to corroborate the same due to storage issues ..but you can vouch on Solitary Nook package for sure.

I had a good time and liked the place a lot. No doubt but there is no proper coordination between the people sitting in Calcutta and the staff at the resort. I paid in advance for the food and boat ride besides booking rooms online. Believe me it is not cheap. The rooms are very cheap compared to food and other activities. The boat ride is supposed to take us to around the Jungle where you can watch Animals. For my 10,000 Rupees they just took us in the water. Not worth it. Ten grand for four of us. Utter waste. We can just book the boat with a very good Company at Godkhali itself. Do not fall in the trap. You can do that for couple of hundred rupees. Waste of money. Be careful before you book the complete Boat with them. Not worth it. For snacks I was promised regular veg pakoda and chicken pakoda. They served me only veg pakoda. I did not care much because anyways the veg pakoda was very bad. For dinner I personally ordered a Kg of Jumbo Prawns. Because Fish was already a part of my dinner menu promised to me. In fact in the morning the sales guy from Kolkata called me and asked how to cook the Fish for dinner. It is all a hoax. When we went to eat at 9:00 PM there was no Fish. And they cooked only 8 pieces of Prawns. Already with all the issues since morning I could not take it. I had an argument with the staff. I requested them to record the whole argument with the staff since I wanted to post online. The staff said they never knew that Fish was part of my dinner. Finally they gave me 8 pieces of Jumbo prawns worth 350 rupees as compensation for the Fish. This is called looting. For veg lunch, veg pakoda as evening snack with tea, non veg dinner which was just dal and gobi, next day breakfast I paid 10,000/- rupees for a group of four. Two rooms for group of four cost me 3900 rupees online. Boat ride cost me 10,000/- rupees for four. Lousy food cost me 10,000/- for four. My recommendation is just book rooms Online. DO NOT TAKE ANY FOOD OR BOAT PACKAGES WITH THEM.
