Amazing views with amazing staff. If you are interested in seeing north part of our globe, this is one of good hotels you might wanna take. Food has really good quality, rooms and houses are comfortable to rest after an active day. You will definitely find peace and quiet moments in this place.

Sommarøy hote has the best views in Tromsø including the lake view. Visited here in December in the midst of winter. The lake view is in itself mesmerizing. The perfect winter wonderland. Auroras can be spotted on a clear night. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are neat and welcoming. Will surely visit again.

We were staying in the main hotel on the top floor. The room is nicely decorated but has very limited space to store your clothes. The beds were not really meant for couples but were otherwise nice. The balcony had really strong lights that could not be turned off, which is a pity as a lot of people come for the Norther lights and this is just unnecessary light pollution. The heating didn't work in our bathroom, but that was a temporary issue. The location is amazing, remote, but still easily accessible by car. Lot of hiking options and a decent amount of adventure options provided by the hotel as well. Sauna is available till late in the evening. Free tea, water, and coffee 24/7. Great food. The vegetarian burger was one of my favorites even though I am not vegetarian. The menu might be small or limited for some, but I always consider this to be a sign of fresh and well-made food. This was the case here as well. Also, I got addicted to their homemade passion fruit ice tea. The staff is helpful and professional. One small improvement for the bar would be to number the tables. That way your staff doesn't have to search for the table that made the order. It was amusing to see them act like the confused Travolta meme, but very inefficient. If you could turn off the lights when the aurora starts, that would be also amazing. The breakfast buffet is also very nice and fresh. I think the price/quality ratio is top. Would recommend the Hotel to any of my friends.
