Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa Chalets

We really enjoyed camping at Sondela a few weeks ago. It's clean, staff are always friendly. 3rd time we have been there, we go ride the gravel and mountain bike races there, so beautiful to cycle and see the animals around you. Can't wait to go back.

Stayed at the Makhato Bush Lodge. It was clean and child friendly. There are swimming pools near the lodges which made it a treat to not drive all the way to the main reception area. We had zebras, springboks and giraffes visit us. The rare game drive was amazing. Children enjoyed feeding the animals. I was really impressed at how well the animals were looked after. Staff are very warm and friendly. Only thing I feel is that it would have been nice to get complementary wood or charcoal but the shop has everything avaliable in case you forget.

I want to start on a positive note and give credit where its due, the house and nature surrounding the house is breathtaking! We truly enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was a disappointing trip, we are here for the bride and groom's bachelors and Bachelorette, we were supposed to go on a 8 people special package game drive but were told we cant leave our house because a guy needs to come fix the tap and they cant reschedule (we only had the one day to do the drive) , when the guy showed up he said he will anyways just return the next day since he doesn't have the parts , my sister the bride who bought special things for everyone for the drive was so disappointed since people flew in from the USA and other parts of South Africa simply to be told we cant leave our house. Furthermore, we were disappointed with the pancakes, we ordered 20 , some were burnt, some were raw so we couldn't eat them.
