Sonder At Commerce

Great apartment with everything we needed to make our week long stay comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with utensils and dishes. There is laundry in the unit. The bed was comfortable and had lots of extra pillows. We appreciated there was a second half bath. The bedroom was tucked in the back of the unit and was very quiet. There was more hallway noise when in the living room but that's expected from a shared building. We didn't hear any noise from apartments above or below us. Our unit overlooked the swimming pool which was fun. I did wish we could have used the main elevators instead of the parking garage elevators but that was a minor inconvenience. The neighborhood was very walkable with many restaurants and things to do nearby.

Just before arriving for our stay at Sonder Dallas, I read some reviews online which scared me a little. I have to say, our stay here was amazing and not at all like any of the negative reviews. We loved the space, the apartment, and its facilities—it was beautifully clean and immaculate with great stylish furnishing. We wanted to live here; it was very us. I understand that the check-in process for Sonder guests can be a bit long-winded, and there is potential for improvement if this was handled directly via the Residences entrance. However, we were greeted by a lovely, friendly, and super helpful member of the Sonder team who walked us to the apartment and gave us all the instructions we needed. The only negative I have is regarding the rooftop pool available for use by Sonder guests. Despite being accessed through the attached Statler hotel, the team working at the rooftop pool were downright rude and unwelcoming. The setup is strange and not well explained—there are no pool loungers up there, only seats you have to pay for, which is not communicated upfront. The bar staff were really bad overall. I’d return here if I had no plans to use the rooftop pool; the other pool was okay, not the best, but better than the snooty behavior on the roof!

While there is no personal service for the apartment you would be staying in, it is attached to a full service hotel with a wonderful concierge and bellman services who will direct you on how to get to your fob and to the apartment, which is a little tricky but once you get it, it's fine. The apartment is clean and spacious, but towels and TP are very limited (washer / dryer though). The location is excellent - walkable to everything in downtown Dallas. I would stay here again.
