i have been to many places in similar level, but i highly appreciate the STAFF here. they are friendly, supportive, attentive & hospitable. checkin, checkout process was smooth. location is great & kids may love it. safer pool with kids pool + little kids park+ natural turtle watch no much varieties in food but it was comprehensive and tasty hope the road to the location will be improved soon. bean a hotel at a paradise for fish, consider more fish items in the buffet. may be a seafood corner please ;-)

I had a wonderful stay at Sooriya Resort & Spa in Tangalle. The location is absolutely stunning—set on a peaceful stretch near Rekawa Beach with breathtaking ocean views right from the room. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. I especially enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the chance to watch turtles nearby—a unique and memorable experience! The food was good, although a bit slow to arrive at times. The pool area was clean and relaxing, and the resort offers a perfect escape for anyone looking to unwind away from the crowds. Only downside is the slightly remote location and the rough road leading to the resort, but once you arrive, it’s definitely worth it. Highly recommend for couples, nature lovers, and anyone seeking tranquility.

My family and I recently stayed at Sooriya Resort and Spa for 2 nights. As always, we appreciated the warm hospitality – the staff were polite, respectful, and attentive throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and offered a lovely view, which added to the overall relaxing atmosphere of the resort. That said, there are a few areas where we believe some improvements could enhance the guest experience further: • Water availability: Providing bottled water in the room instead of glass bottles would be more convenient for guests who wish to carry water while exploring the area. Recyclable bottles would be a practical and eco-conscious alternative. • Room amenities: We were surprised to find that the room did not have a fridge this time, despite having one during a previous stay. This small amenity makes a big difference in comfort, especially in a warm climate. • Dining experience: While we understand that a buffet may not always be viable during low occupancy periods, guests who have paid for half-board should ideally be given the option to order from the à la carte menu rather than being limited to a fixed set menu. Flexibility here would go a long way in guest satisfaction. • Food quality: It would be helpful if meals could be tasted before serving to ensure proper seasoning and doneness. Some of the dishes we received were unfortunately over-salted or overcooked. While we understand that food might not be the primary attraction of the resort, it should still meet a basic standard of quality. We hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit intended. Sooriya remains a beautiful property with a lot of potential, and with a few tweaks, the experience could truly be exceptional.
