I didn’t stay at the hotel. It’s a nice place to visit. A variety of eateries and a nice fountain for kids to play and cool off.

I took 15 minutes to check in because the staff couldn’t find my name. The use of the swimming pool and gym is not included; you have to pay extra for a spa pass to enter. Breakfast is extra charged. There were only two bottles of water in the fridge, and additional bottles incur an extra charge. There was no toothbrush or amenities in the room, and requests for these items also require an extra charge. The room itself is nice, but that’s about it. You pay for the room only.

Be warned. Sorano Hotel is not what it appears. This beautiful-looking hotel is in a rather faraway location in western Tokyo [ we have stayed more than two times now, to support Tachikawa, previously a poor area ] The narrow small pool [ the main attraction! ] is often closed for Leaks and Repairs - or out of service every time we come to stay - and here we are when it is working! - and they want to charge us an extra JPY 2200 per person - each entry - on top of our already high room rate! The decent bar on the top floor also got the drinks all wrong - plus they forgot the snacks we ordered - totally unacceptable, because no-one else was there! SHOCKER! No basic room amenities at all, they also charge for water, no room cleaning each day, lots of dogs — yes, BIG DOGS all throughout the reception/ foyer/ sitting/ coffee/ rest/ lift areas. Therefore, we have STOPPED RECOMMENDING the SORANO HOTEL to our network of friends … Please be better Sorano Hotel — Aki & Poru x
