Just returned from a week stay at this hotel. We booked this pretty last minute and didn’t look at reviews before booking, then when I saw the reviews I was super nervous as I felt like the majority were negative. This would have definitely put us off booking if we’d have looked prior. Room - Ours was really spacious, queen size bed, big wardrobe and lots of other storage, plug sockets next to the bed, all the essentials and more! Possibly the only thing missing was a dressing table/desk with mirror. However, I liked doing my makeup in either the bathroom or on the balcony so didn’t find a problem here. I’ve seen many reviews saying the cleanliness wasn’t up to standard, when we arrived, room was completely clean. We wouldn’t expect the daily maids to do a full clean anyway, but they would make up the bed, take out any rubbish, replace towels and replenish mini fridge (water, soft drinks, beer, milk). Fully adequate for us! Aircon in the room was amazing, having it on for an hour or 2 would keep the room cool all night. I’ve seen complaints over the high noise levels, particularly in the evening. Maybe we got lucky, but we didn’t experience this at all. We picked a room with land view, not pool/sea view, so we were on the other side of the hotel away from the chaos, we were directly above reception/entrance of the hotel. Gorgeous views of the mountains and horses walking by daily. Food & Drink - Food choice was exceptional at every meal, always a range of pasta dishes, rice, meats, vegetable dishes, salad, fish, bread, desserts, fruit & loads more. Eggs, sausage, omelettes made to order in front of you, pancakes, yoghurts, cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses, etc. for breakfast every day. In between meal times, the snack bar was open serving pizza, pasta, chips, chicken nuggets, onions rings & salad. On day of arrival we got there at around 3am and snack bar was still open which was handy. Long cocktail list to choose from on all inclusive (I recommend The Galaxy cocktail). Staff would also come around the pool a few times a week with sangria/fruit punch made up to hand out to guests, these were always the nicest drinks for us. Efes beer on tap. All the branded soft drinks and fruit juices available. Entertainment - Some form of entertainment every night, usually either a show or high production themed night. We saw a dance show, acrobatics show, Miss Akadia show, then themed nights were Moulin Rouge, Alien/Space & Neon night. All well worth going to, 9:30pm - 11pm every night, then they would continue with a night time disco until 4am but we were ready for bed after the show so missed this. Again, couldn’t hear any noise or the nighttime disco from our room. Daily daytime activities included water gym, water polo, darts, yoga, etc. always something going on. Twice a week they would also throw a foam party around the main pool, giving out champagne, sangria, bottled beers (Efes, Corona, Becks), huge fruit platter and Magnums. Buses - Free shuttle bus service to the beach and back every 30 mins, daily. Saw some reviews say they weren’t always on time, but we found no issues. Super easy and useful, ride to the beach was literally 2-3 mins. We also went down to Side Old Town one evening by bus, paid €2 euros each for the trip each way. Took around 30 mins, bus was pretty warm but bearable and no complaints for €2! Overall - Beautiful hotel, lots of photo opportunities and gorgeous views. We saw many reviews say it is not a hotel for brits, and it’s “full of russians”. There were many russian guests, but that was no issue for us. We’re a british couple in our mid-twenties and we still felt completely welcome. The brits made up around 10% of the guests, and yet every night show was still spoken in english. All staff we came in contact with spoke multiple languages to suit all guests. Music played around the pool for most of the day, this wasn’t too loud or irritating for us, and was generally well known english songs.
Beautiful hotel to look at. Room was nice but air con didn’t work while the temp was in 30°’s, towels weren’t changed we had to ask multiple times for clean towels was up and down with the cleaning of the rooms daily. Food was ok, beach buffet was nicer. We were told there was branded alcohol but didn’t find anything of the sort honestly. People blasting music, shouting and screaming at half5 in the morning which was a big downfall. Some of the staff were lovely but others quite rude couldn’t speak English unfortunately.
