Sotogrande Hotel and Resort in Cebu

Decent place to stay. Comfortable. Lowest hotel rate we found in Agoda with pool and beach. Book here and you get access to 2 other sister resorts. 1 - Vista Mar for 2 pools facing the beach & beach access 2 - La Mirada's pool (clean, big, but requires maintenance in terms of aesthetics) No worries about going to these resorts - just walking distance. Very much like booking other big resorts where you need to walk around the facility to access the amenities. Food - usual resort rates. What I personally do not like - shower in the bath tub. Not comfortable for me. Can't have it all. Overall 5 stars.

Arrived at the resort, we had 5 rooms booked. One room was not made up at all. Only a stained matress was probided. The airconditioner was hanging off the wall with wires hanging down and rubbish through out the room. The replacement room had a faulty airconditioner, water was pouring out of it. All the rooms had damaged carpet, damaged side tables. All bench tops were dirty and cover in a sticky substance. Towels were old and worn out. The beach was dirty and not swimable. The shared pool was out dated and the food at the pool restaurant was terrible. Beer was over priced aswell. The tiles in the pool restaurant had water from the pool all through, this is a major safety hazard. All 5 guests cancelled the booking on the same day of arrival and booked elsewere. I understand the Phillipines is a developing country but this resort doesnt even meet backpacking hostel standards. Dont let the photos online fool you, the resort is nothing like the pics. Rating: 1/10 Our experience at this hotel was shocking and completely unacceptable for a place that claims to be four stars. First, they refused to take a card for the deposit and held our passports instead—already a bad start. But it got worse. When we entered our room, we found a rat running around. I showed the reception a video of it, but they still insisted on “confirming it themselves” and sent a security guard to inspect the room. He didn’t find the rat (of course), and told us to just “let them know if it comes back.” Seriously? I had to complain again before they finally moved us to a new room, which was only half cleaned—no pillows, missing towels—and then the security guard showed up again to make the bed himself. Unbelievable. The worst part? No apology. No accountability. Just complete disregard for basic hospitality and hygiene. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
