Southern Comfort Motel

I love my favorite motel in Christchurch, the Southern Comfort...! I have stayed in many different motels in Christchurch in recent years. My favorite room at Southern Comfort feels like home away from home to me. In fact, I said to a friend during my recent stay there, 'I could live in this studio...!' The manager Sheena is so kind and obliging and works hard to accomodate my requirement to get my special room. The room is always totally immaculate and clean, faultless. The bed is comfy, the shower is awesome. And the room is toasty warm, even in the middle of winter. I also love that I can walk to Hagley Park in a few minutes, and there are great food places close by. My choice..?? Always Southern Comfort.

We were really disappointed with our stay at this motel. You really get what you pay for. There were holes everywhere, and the bathroom floor was so soft that it felt like you might fall through it. The bathroom was tiny, and there was mold in there too. It’s clear that no time has been put into making this place look nice and tidy. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.only good thing was the location very close to shops

Terrible Experience – Falsely Accused of Stealing! I had an awful experience at Southern Comfort Motel. After checking out, I received an accusation from the hotel claiming I had stolen a towel from my room—something I absolutely did not do. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they were rude and dismissive when I tried to explain. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. I have stayed at many hotels and have never encountered such unprofessional behavior. If they are this quick to falsely accuse guests, I can only imagine how they handle other customer service issues. There are plenty of other hotels that value their guests and treat them with respect—avoid this place if you don’t want to be accused of something you didn’t do!
