The front desk was fast and friendly checking me in. The room had many common problems with maintenance at this price point in a small town. But overall the place is clean and comfortable. I loved that my room was already cold!! Great after working in the Texas sun all day. Good value for “passing through”
We stayed at this hotel for one night and had a disturbing and unsafe experience. The bathroom in our first room had visible black mold all over the ceiling and trim—but we didn’t notice it until the next morning. We got in late the night before, exhausted, and honestly, who checks the ceiling for mold when they first arrive? We had already spent the night with our one-year-old baby and our dog, completely unaware of the health risk. By the next morning, I had a headache, runny nose, and an upset stomach, and my baby also showed allergy symptoms. When I went to the front desk to report the mold, the man who came out was wearing a tank top and boxer shorts—totally unprofessional. He offered to move us to another room, but when we checked it, the mold in that bathroom was even worse. We immediately decided to check out, but when I asked to speak with the manager, I was told to come back at 10:30. I did—and the manager was nowhere to be found. Based on how things were handled, I don’t expect we’ll get a refund. Now I’m left concerned that our belongings, including the baby’s pack and play, blankets, and luggage, may have been contaminated. I’ve already reported the situation to the state health department, because this hotel should not be operating under these conditions. Please do not stay here. It is not safe—especially if you’re traveling with kids, pets, or anyone with allergies. The mold problem is serious, and the staff clearly isn’t taking it seriously.
The rooms are ok. The guy at the front desk is very sweet. The people that clean the rooms are sweethearts. Let’s talk about the RV park. It’s a freaking jungle. They had someone mowing the grass but it’s been about a month and a half and the grass is almost as tall as me and I’m 5’2”. Rent is $350 and unfortunately it’s one of the only places for older RVs in this town. In the rental lease for the RV park it clearly states that those who rent an RV spot are entitled to use of the swimming pool yet they want to charge anyone not renting a room nightly $10 a piece and they are lying to customers saying the pool pump is broken. It’s clearly not. The pool is clean for the most part. They don’t care about anything but making money off you. Cuero city pool only charges $2 and their pool is cleaned daily.
