Sowell Hotels La Plage

We had a wonderful stay in a junior suite. The room was very comfortable and well kept. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Everything from check‑in to check‑out was smooth. We would happily stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. Check-in went smoothly, but parking costs an extra €10 per day, so we decided to park on the street instead. The room was spacious and clean, and the hotel is located right by the beach, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. We specifically booked this hotel because they told us there was a dog-friendly beach nearby. However, when we arrived, we found out that dogs were not allowed on the beach, and no dog-friendly beach was available in the area. The common areas of the hotel were dirty, and the bar only served wine, beer, and soft drinks throughout the day—and only when staff were present. In the evening, they offered just one premixed cocktail, which changed daily. The breakfast was a complete mess and tasted awful. Dinner was just okay, but there were very few options, with much of the food being cheap, frozen items like chicken nuggets. For the price, I expected a lot more. I would recommend choosing a different hotel without an all-inclusive option and spending the extra money on food and drinks elsewhere.

We stayed for two nights and booked the all inclusive rate. Upon arrival we were impressed with the sea view of the common areas as well as with the large size of our room. But there is nothing else to be highlighted about this resort. Before booking we asked the hotel about dog beaches nearby because that was crucial for our booking decision. The told us that near Plage de Boulouris was dog friendly. But when we went there, there were multiple signs stating „no dogs allowed“. We asked the employees at the reception about that and told them that we were told by hotel employees that it was a dog friendly beach. Their reaction was that the beaches are the responsibility of the municipality and not of the hotel and that they cannot provide ja a dog beach from the hotel… The all inclusive food lacked the variety and quality one would expect regarding the price. We ended up ordering food to the hotel instead. Final highlight on departure was that we had to carry all our stuff through a rainstorm. Parking on the resort area costs an extra 10€ per day, so we decided to park at the road. On the day we checked out, it was raining massively as you can see in the video. We asked at the reception to drive up to our room to avoid our stuff getting soaking wet. They just answered impolitely that we aren’t allowed to do that since we didn’t pay the parking fee. Over all on of the most terrible stays I ever had.
