We had an amazing stay at Villa Ritter. We booked two rooms for one night because of the location - loads of greenery all around, the air is amazing. The walkway to Diana viewpoint is close by and it's walkable to city center. Parking is free on the premises or on the premises of neighbouring Villa Eliška. Our rooms were large and spacious, everything was clean, the views from the balconies were lovely. Staff is very helpful. The breakfast has a good selection of foods, I appreciated the amount of vegetables available. The reception staff noticed it was my birthday (I did not tell them anything) and at breakfast, I received a cake and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, which was an extremely nice surprise and elevated an already top-notch stay. Needless to say if I need to stay in Karlovy Vary overnight again, Villa Ritter would be my top choice.
It's a great place. Where you can blow off the piano. Sometimes it's almost a Hilton. The main thing is that it is important to turn off the light. My many thanksesness. 💵
We came to the hotel for some spa in 2024: everyone was super polite and nice. So, this year we decided to stay at the hotel. The receptionist (Blanka) cannot speak English. Her Russian/German are not always clear but OK, nothing to do (what if a client does not speak any Czech/Russian/German?). Be aware it seems like the hotel is reserved only for Czech/German/Russian-speaking people. She assigned a parking spot to us but then a person coming to the hotel for spa services suddenly occupied our spot. She then gave us another parking spot 50 meters from the hotel. I told her that I am disappointed that someone who is not a guest occupied the spot assigned to me, a hotel guest. She started to get anxious. Living in the US, I automatically started to speak English because her Russian became incomprehensible and because I thought it is a spoken, international language in the Czech Republic as well. She said that she does not speak English, I should speak Czech to her, or Russian, or German, because I came to her country. She yielded at me, literally cried at me and interrupted me, giving me a lecture on how I should not expect people to speak English here in Carlsbad. I spent so much of my time and nerves while listening to her lectuting me instead of being able to check in that the whole experience was spoilt. I will never ever again return to this hotel.
