Amazing property. Beautiful hotel and villas, great restaurants, pool and tennis courts. The moment you drive in the property feels low key while at the same time upscale. The modern decor really goes with the concept and makes the property look trendy and sleek. We stayed at a villa with a private pool and it was pretty spectacular. We would definitely come again in the summer months. A definite must if you visit Comporta.
Wonderful Stay with a Few Drawbacks We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel itself is stunning. The pool area feels magical, and although the gym is on the smaller side, it’s well-equipped and perfectly functional. Service throughout our stay was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making us feel welcome and well looked after. A special thank you to Joana at the reception—she was amazing and went out of her way to assist us. Truly appreciated! Breakfast was very good, offering a wide variety of options—everything you could need to start the day. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant one evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality of the food and service was top-notch. The tennis facilities deserve a special mention—very well maintained and enjoyable to use. A big thank you to Ramón, the tennis coach, who was fantastic. The only downside, and quite a significant one, was the noise between the standard rooms. You can hear absolutely everything from the neighboring rooms, which really detracts from the overall comfort—especially given the premium price. For a hotel of this level, better sound isolation is a must. Overall, a lovely experience with just a few improvements needed in room privacy.
Beautiful design on the surface that suffers from a lack of focus regarding material details and the overall guest experience at this price level. The standard rooms, as others have mentioned, are way below the market standard with poorly installed shower fittings, poor shower drainage and cheap windows and doors - they feel almost temporary in combination with such beautiful, minimalist interior design and overall resort architecture. Though even here on the grounds, large pipes, water tanks and ventilation units are clearly visible on the guided guest access tracks. However, the staff make up for the subpar design details, and are generally superlative and the food and facilities are generally excellent. Sadly, this hybrid hotel conversion of a private residential compound sorely lacks attention to detail and it can’t be recommended at this price point. This would be closer to 3.5 stars than 4.
