Spicer Mansion

My family stayed here for a long weekend and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Nancy, the manager, was supremely kind, and the entire staff made us feel completely at home from the moment we entered the hotel. The space was gorgeously decorated, and everything seemed specifically tailored to create as relaxing and enjoyable an experience as possible. We had a delicious breakfast, enjoyed drinks and snacks throughout the day, and were able to have personal conversations with several members of the staff who were unfailingly generous, helpful, and good-natured. We will be returning to the Captain's Mansion, and consider ourselves lucky to have found such a superb hotel!

If you want to stay just above the hustle of Mystic, then The Captain's Mansion is where you should be. My wife and I walked back & forth into town for the weekend. We are physically able to do so. The Mansion was quiet and only has eight suites. The architecture was exquisite and the owners kept the historical value of the building intact! Everyone was very helpful and polite. We could not have made a better choice for our stay in Mystic,CT.

This beautifully restored mansion is magnificent. It is filled with architectural detail and tastefully decorated with period furniture and sailing artwork. Our room was comfortable and quiet, though you should be prepared to climb one or two long flights of stairs as was the style in that era. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend. We'll be back!
